Many Native tribes in North America use sweetgrass in prayer, smudging or purifying ceremonies. Sweetgrass has a sweet scent and is called the breath of the Earth mother. Bringing the blessings of love from the Earth Mother. Sweetgrass is burned to remind us of the essence of the feminine and that the earth provides us with everything we need.
